Tightrope Media’s Carousel Digital Signage has become synonomous with ease of use. Unlike many other signage systems, Carousel was more specifically designed for use in public messaging rather than retail. Therefore, the user interface is geared to average people rather than Creative or Technical staff members.

For the AV Reseller, Carousel is synonomous with ease of deployment. Tightrope is dedicated to the Reseller Channel, providing useful services such as Creative Services, End-User Training, and Demo Registration programs.

Carousel can be configured in either a Server/Player or Stand-Alone design depending upon the application. The Stand-Alone, or Solo products, come in two flavors. The rack mount product is called Solo 300R, and it’s counterpart is the small form factor Solo 230, designed to reside at the display. Embedded into the Solos is the software needed to house 1 creative channel of information, and the user interface to create bulletins to post to the display. Access is either through a keyboard and mouse, through the IP port, or the Optional Wifi card. External video can also be supplied through an optional RF Tuner/Video Input device. The finished video is fed to the display via HDMI (w/o HDCP) or VGA, and can of course be distributed to as many displays as you’d like. The 300R also has a composite out – often fed into an RF distribution system. A limitation on the Solos, however, is 2 unique user logins (for more information, contact us, or see our Digital Signage Made Easy page).

For multi-channel systems (more than one creative theme) or where more than two restricted logins are required, Carousel is available in a Server/Player configuration. Carousel Pro Server is a blade system that can handle up to 200 distinct program channels, manages unlimited users, and communicates to the displays via the rack mount Player 300R or the smaller form factor Player 230. Another option is Carousel Server, a scaled down model that has unlimited user management, an on-board Player, but is limited to a total of 3 creative program channels.

Finally, there are the Enterprise Software versions of Carousel, both in Server and Player configurations, for installations where the client prefers to manage his own PC network.
