All Cassini products can be programmed using Author, a free software application available through Enseo for each Cassini user.  Much more than an graphic design tool, it is also the administrative interface for programming Cassini to interact within itself – or to talk to the outside world. 

Author first gives the programmer access to Cassini’s internal Opera Browser.  This gives you the ability to infinitely scale and display a variety of visual elements, including video from any source, graphics, animated graphics, text, web elements, and RSS feeds.  Visible or invisible Action Buttons can be created and linked to trigger internal events or actions, or be set up to send code to outside devices or control systems. 

Author is also the adminstrative tools that times internal events, such as changing a graphic, text element or video channel.   It also tells Cassini where and when to locate and execute updates.  These can occur on regular intervals or at specific times.  Cassini will reach out and completely update its programming from from an http or ftp site, or find a .txt file at a specified URL and to change text or graphics being displayed on the screen.
